Training 

All training classes start at 8:00 am sharp, so be at the center by 7:30 am.

Safety hazards exist on the job, as well as in the mocked-training jobsites. It is of the utmost importance to follow the safety regulations in place that protect the welfare of students and future construction workers. All members attending classes to receive hands-on training, must be physically able to perform all aspects of the training course.  Student must meet all physical requirements needed to complete the training course.  Safety is a priority therefore, if physical limitations prevent the student from performing any aspect of the job training, the student cannot participate in the training class. No exceptions!

Directions

Take I 90 East, towards Albany
The Interstate will split, stay to the right (I 87) towards NY City
Get off on Exit 22, Selkirk
Pay toll and take left onto Rt. 144, River Road
Go approx. 2 to 3 miles
On the left, you will see several sheds, slow down
Wemple Road is the next left
Training Center will be on the right about 2500 ft.

We offer a Mileage check only for members who drive.  Please allow ample time for road conditions, from the Union Hall to the Training Center is 1hour & 50 minutes, door to door. No overnight guests allowed. No Exceptions. 

You will need:  Work clothes and boots. Bring outdoor gear as you may work outside, BE PREPARED!!!!There is a basketball court in the gym at the facility so bring sneakers. NO work boots allowed in the gym. Bring your own soap and shampoo. There is a laundry facility, but you must bring own laundry detergent.

The allowance is $20.00 a day and reimbursed at the completion of the class. Be sure to submit your receipts to receive a reimbursement.

Apprenticeship 

Earn While You Learn a Building and Construction Trade in the Construction Craft Laborer School-to-Work Program. As an apprentice, you will learn the skills and knowledge needed to become a Construction Craft Laborer (CCL). You will work with experienced journey workers, attend training courses, and gain real-life work experience. The more training and experience you gain, the more career options you have. The type of work you will do will depend on you--your knowledge and your skill level.
